 Newcastle United Football Club are an English Premiere League assocation football club based in Newcatle upon Tyne,Tyne and Wear . Founded in 1892 by the merger of Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End. Newcastle United played in Newcastle East End's red kit until 1894 when they adopted their current black and white striped shirts. They have a long-standing and fierce rivalry with neighbours Sunderland with whom they have contested the Tyne-Wear derby since 1898.
